The house of the future is here today – IP Building

Automatic sunshades when the sun is too bright or heating that stops when you close the door. Future living happens spontaneously. “Smart control makes a home more comfortable and future-proof,” says Jo Coenen of IP Building. The apartments of Residence Wings in Ghent are equipped with IP Building’s smart control systems.

IP Building links techniques to make living simpler and more intuitive, a vision fully supported by Fenixco. The Belgian hardware and software manufacturer developed a system where various home techniques communicate with each other. “It’s not just home automation. We go further, linking lighting and ensuring energy savings. Or we add comfort functions so seniors can live longer in their own homes,” explains sales manager Jo Coenen. “Our platform allows individual technique connections via a central, user-friendly touchscreen, giving the user complete control.”

“We go beyond home automation. We link not only lighting but also ensure energy savings.”

    Comfort is the Key Word

For example, you can link the shower to music, light, and heating, so with one button, the water, lighting, ventilation, and heating are set, and you hear your favorite music. “Is it necessary? No. Is it convenient and does it create more comfort? Absolutely.”

The system’s major advantage is continuous development, with extra features added remotely over time, including voice technology. The moment you can close your bedroom curtains with a simple voice command has arrived, if you want it. Alternatively, the IP Building platform can serve as a videophone, depending on your personal preferences.
